3.   Public Musical Worship (click here)

When we come together to worship we may have needs, but God desires more than to be needed for our needs. He wants for us first to to be drawn to delight in what He is like and in just being with Him, for both our good pleasure and His

Publically as people we are vulnerable to a desire to impress one another or even God Himself with how good or well we sound or how nice the music is.

How good we sound or how pleasing to God the music is comes from how truthful we are or that the words of our song are!

God sees the heart even before words are formed in it so therefore cannot delight in hearing songs He can straight away see does not match up with what is going on in our hearts.

Better to wait a song out than join the crowd in singing for the sake of it

A heart without words is better in God’s sight than words without heart!

True public worship involves the wonder of sharing our true private worship around others as they do the same with us.

The worship is not for us but for Him.

For Him to receive it, it must be true!

Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
Ecclesiastes:5:2
